Bal-A-Vis-X
Bal-A-Vis-X is the
combination of Balance/Auditory/Vision exercises as experienced utilizing beanbags,
racquetballs, balance boards.
What will I learn in Bal-A-Vis-X? Participants will learn principles,
rhythms, patterns, procedures, and approximately 125
basic bag and ball
exercises as well as vision tracking procedure. The
class is well designed
with a variety of challenging rhythms and
patterns involving the balance
board for the
vestibular system
Who benefits? Teachers, OTs, parents, and anyone working
with students—
including gifted students, very young, the elderly, and the physically and
/or mentally
challenged, those labeled ADD/ADHD, those who have behavioral disorders.
What are the benefits of Bal-A-Vis-X? Rhythmic patterns
improve auditory skills such as understanding and following
directions,
participation in
discussions and pronunciation of words.
Visual improvements may include ocular mobility (tracking),
binocularity
(teaming) visual form perception (discrimination of details),
focus attention
and eye-hand coordination.
Behaviors improve with increased confidence and self esteem.
Improvements
are evident in balance and body coordination.
Test scores
and reading levels improve.
Who developed Bal-A-Vis-X? Bill Hubert developed Bal-A-Vis-X to use
at Hadley Middle
School in Wichita Kansas. Mr. Hubert and his students present workshops most
weekends throughout the school year. Their workshops have been held across the United States and Mexico.
Who is the Instructor? Thad Trahan was first introduced to Bal-A-Vis-X by Bill Hubert in May 1999. After being
trained, he used the program with very successful results for three years at
Anahuac Elementary School. He has
made numerous presentations nationally and internationally over the past eight
years.
Level 1 and the Adaptive Bal-A-Vis-X
Class is 11 hours over 2 days with a maximum of 16
students.
Individual one on one sessions
are also available.
